About Studio Nøddebo

I founded Studio Nøddebo in 2011, a Danish design studio with a passion for creating furniture that enriches both indoor and outdoor living spaces. My journey in design is not just about creating aesthetically pleasing pieces; I focus on combining strong visual expressions with functionality and market relevance. This principle has guided my work, ensuring that while aesthetics play a crucial role, practicality and commercial viability are never overlooked.
My expertise extends to working closely with Danish and international furniture manufacturers. One of my key partners has been Feelgood Designs in Australia. Since our collaboration began in 2012, we’ve launched five chair collections among other things that are now available in Australia, the USA, and Europe. Rattan furniture, a significant element of our partnership since 2015, showcases my understanding of its potential and challenges. My involvement doesn’t stop at design; I regularly oversee production and prototype development at teak and rattan factories in Indonesia, ensuring that every piece meets our standards.
Another pivotal partnership has been with Squarehome in Vietnam. Together, we’ve introduced over ten collections across the USA, Europe, and Asia, focusing on dining, living, and bedroom furniture. This collaboration highlights my ability to blend Scandinavian design language with the unique craftsmanship found in Asia, resulting in products that are both innovative and culturally resonant.

About
Studio Nøddebo was established in early 2011 by furniture designer Allan Nøddebo. Allan graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture, Design and Conservation. Immediately after, the studio Nøddebo was founded.

The studio is dedicated to address and explore the fundamental idea of a product with enthusiasm, professionalism and diligence.
Spending time to define the right starting point is crucial to pave the way for a strong and relevant product in the end.

Our products should be more than just a functional satisfaction. Apart from meeting specific needs, the products should stimulate our senses. They should act intuitively on us and pique our curiosity.

In a balanced relationship between observation and function, aesthetics and emotions the studio defines and analyzes the DNA of a given product. Our aim is to create products which improve your everyday life - indefinitely
Since 2007, I have also worked with the Danish company Bolia, designing an array of products from sofas and dining tables to the successful Elope mirror series. This relationship began back when I was still studying, underscoring my commitment to fostering long-term partnerships that grow and evolve over time. More recently, new collaborations have begun with leading Scandinavian companies such as Muuto, Andersen Furniture, Spring Copenhagen and Skargaarden.
At Studio Nøddebo, my approach to design is deeply rooted in an understanding of the process and production knowledge, particularly within Scandinavia and Asia. This includes a strong focus on prototyping, allowing me to refine and perfect each design before it reaches the market. My dedication to these processes ensures that, while I focus on aesthetics, functionality and business viability remain central to my work.
